Check back regularly for 2021 season updates!
Due to the number of events remaining mathematically eliminating Classic qualification, 2020 membership has been closed. We hope you'll come back and join us for what is sure to be an exciting 2021 season.
For the 2020 season, NVKBA is operating on a “Members Only” status. In order to compete in the local trail series, anglers must be paid NVKBA members prior to the start of each event.
NVKBA members who have participated in at least two (2) NVKBA trail events in the 2020 season will be eligible to fish the 2020 NVKBA Classic in October.
Memberships will be available for purchase up until the evening before Trail Stop #3 (July 24th). Lake Mooney is the new Trail Stop #3 since our first event was cancelled. This gives newcomers a chance to qualify for the Classic, which carries cash, prizes, and qualifying slots for the 2020 KBF National Championship held on Lake Guntersville, AL.
All paid NVKBA members will accrue AoY/RoY points.
In addition to AoY & Classic eligibility, members will receive a 2020 NVKBA Membership decal along with a digital welcome letter including special discounts from participating sponsors.
Thank you for your support, good luck this season!

In almost all CPR tournaments, length rather than weight is the basis for scoring of each competitor’s catch.
Basically, one catches a bass, lays it on an approved measuring board, and takes a photo using a digital camera or smart phone. The photo is then uploaded using either a web browser or app to a web-based Tournament Management System (“TMS”). The fish is dropped back in the water, unharmed, after having been photographed. Because handling and time out of water are minimal, the mortality rate for CPR tournaments is a tiny fraction of that of conventional weight-based tournaments where fish are transported in holding tanks and bags.

NVKBA was formed with three things in mind: Competition, Community, and Camaraderie!
Competition: We are a Kayak Bass Fishing (KBF) national partner club providing CPR (catch, photo, release) tournaments EXCLUSIVE to the Northern Virginia area.
Community: We believe it is imperative that we maintain close ties with our community. This is accomplished by fostering the state's wildlife conservation efforts, supporting local charities, and encouraging our youth to get out on the water. They are the future of our sport!
Camaraderie: Without this, our club would be not exist. Our club is chock full of some of the most down-to-earth individuals with the same common love for the outdoors.
Whether you are here to become the next national champion, or just here to get away from the rat race, remember one thing: We are all here because we believe in something BIGGER THAN OURSELVES! This is one of the fastest growing sports in the country, so be prepared for great events at Northern Virginia's premiere fishing venues!
